Welcome to Laundimer House
Hello and welcome to the Laundimer House blog. This is my first blog and I feel like I'm really behind the times with technology and social media, I'm usually too busy getting ready for new guests to arrive but my mid- year resolution is to dedicate a bit more time to it.
What an incredibly turbulent and painful year for many people in hospitality (and the whole world!) There's some light at the end of the tunnel and thank goodness since reopening to leisure guests on the 14th May, bookings have started to increase.
So with that in mind I need to start thinking about what still needs to be done to each of my 4 rooms to bring them up to a high standard. I have been gradually refurbishing and improving facilities at the house for several years. Everything went on hold due to Coronavirus but now it's time to crack on with things again.
First on the list is paintwork. I have to confess it's my least favourite job and I tend to be one of those people who start painting, leave it 1/2 done for several months, before finishing it during the slower winter months. But it looks unsightly and uncared for in the meantime. My brain does a good job of procrastination and ignoring it but this is really a bad habit that needs to be changed. So on today's list is the awkward bannister rail, hall ceiling and the corridor down to the Birch Trees room. I thought Sundays were meant to be lazy?!
